Every year around All Saints' Day, a new Bosch Requiem by a Dutch composer is presented at November Music. This year, Aart Strootman has written an intense requiem using the words of the Dutch singer-songwriter Jan Rot. Just before his death, Rot addressed the world one last time in an emotive libretto. His poetic and hopeful text is entitled Laatste Woorden (Last Words). When Jan Rot sent the libretto to Aart Strootman, he described it as ‘somebody's voice in a final message’. Strootman has written a consoling requiem for eight cellos, four percussionists, two singers, and two (bass) guitars.
